Friday, August 7, 10.00am, North Harbour Stadium

With the number of unemployed young people registered now at 1500 (and rising) – and 60 employers attending and looking to hire – JobFest15 is set to be even more successful than the first.

Analysis from the February summit showed about 500 young unemployed people who attended got jobs or the chance of employment.

Friday’s event is being staged as part of Len Brown’s Mayoral Youth Employment Traction Plan.  The mayor says the results show the council’s new approach to addressing youth employment in a practical, action focused way is working and he predicts Friday’s event will result in many more youth getting jobs.

JobFest15 is a unique opportunity for employers and job seekers, aged between 16 and 24, to connect face-to-face and discuss job opportunities.

Companies with stands at the event include Counties Manukau Health, Countdown, MAX, SKYCITY, the Hilton, the Langham, the Just Group, McDonalds, the BNZ and Farmers.

JobFest15 is an Auckland Council initiative supported by MSD, CareersNZ and the Tindall Foundation.

Friday’s event runs from 10.00m to 2.00pm see www.jobfest15.co.nz
