This weekend, thousands of people all around New Zealand will be celebrating Neighbours Day Aotearoa.

From community brunches in Point Chevalier to picnics at marae in Wellington, Kiwis are getting creative in uniting communities and turning strangers into neighbours.

In Hamilton, people can enter a competition to win a meal cooked for them by the Chiefs on Sunday night. In Glen Innes, neighbours are organising food swaps and having street barbeques.

Neighbours Day Aotearoa is a joint initiative from Lifewise, Inspiring Communities, The Mental Health Foundation, and Neighbourhood Support.
