The Department of Internal Affairs’ Policy Team is consulting publicly on how to modernise the Charities Act. Public consultation includes a series of community meetings being held throughout the country over March and April 2019. This online meeting presentation is the same presentation that the DIA Policy Team makes at community meetings.
This online meeting presentation will cover:
· How to have your say and share your experiences;
· What the Charities Act does;
· The goal of modernising; and
· Key issues we want your views on, including:
– Obligations of charities
– The charities regulator
– Appeal of decisions
– Te Ao Māori
– Charities and business
– Charities and advocacy
· Lastly, a selection of questions and answers that have arisen from community meetings.
To make a submission after the online meeting presentation, answer as many questions as you like on the Modernising the Charities Act 2005 Submission form and send it by 30 April 2019 to email@example.com.
