The Tindall Foundation is delighted to have recently approved a donation of $100,000 to the Naenae Youth Charitable Trust, the organisation behind the successful Naenae Boxing Academy, to develop a new pilot academy in Cannons Creek, Porirua.
We have been blown away by the work of Billy Graham and his wife Kerri who, for the past eight years, have dedicated their lives to helping hundreds of young men through their boxing gym. The energy and commitment of the Naenae Boxing Academy staff and the boys who take part is inspiring.
We are very pleased to be teaming up with The Vodafone Foundation to co-fund this pilot over the next three years, so that young boys and men in Cannons Creek have the chance to turn their lives around, just like their neighbours in Naenae have done.
One of the success stories to come out of Naenae Boxing Academy, a young man by the name of Latu Talu, has been employed as Head Coach at Cannons Creek. He will begin coaching the first 30 boys aged 11 and 12 years old on the July 22. Funds to support new boxing academy will also be raised locally.
