Tōnui Collab’s kaupapa, Pā Hangarau, was a multi‑day wānanga celebrating Māori knowledge and digital innovation coming together to inspire the next generation.
This hands‑on experience saw tamariki participating in water testing in the awa and plant identification in the ngahere, learning about the threats to our taiao and what we can do for restoration and protection. They were then supported to use their newly acquired knowledge to design computer games themed around kaitiakitanga o te taiao – blending cultural learning with technology.
This kaupapa is part of our long‑term commitment to the region of Tairāwhiti, supporting Māori‑led innovation and locally designed solutions.
In addition, TTF has paid over $160 million to the Government in prepaid tax.
