Congratulations to all those who have worked collaboratively to contain and control 120km of gorse and broom on the banks of the iconic Clarence/Waiau Toa River in Canterbury. This river is the lifeboat of the local community and those who live and work here are working together to protect and conserve it.  They have great ideals leading in to the future, not only to enhance the cultural values of the river, but to to increase the sustainability of this important local resource.
