We’re excited the recipients of the Ākina Foundation Investment Readiness Grants Programme for 2018 have been announced. We are delighted to team up with Kiwibank, donating $50k each, to support this great initiative offering seven worthy social enterprises with funding to get investment ready.

Ākina’s Investment Readiness Grants provide social enterprises and mission-driven organisations with grants for business, financial, legal and other capacity building support from professional providers to help them secure investment.

Seven social enterprises with great potential for investment have been selected to receive part of $100,000 in grant funding to enable them to pay for professional services support to get investment ready. These ventures are:

  1. Humanitix
  2. LearnCoach
  3. For The Better Good
  4. BBM
  5. Loomio
  6. Thought-Wired
  7. Xtreme Zero Waste

Louise Aitken, CEO of Ākina said, “We received 114 applicants, more than double the number received last year, which I think reflects not only the growing volume of the sector, but also its growing appetite to scale, which is great to see!”
