The Experiencing Marine Reserves (EMR) programme is hosting a Charity Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday 17 October at Bank Street Social Club, Whangarei.

This fantastic programme, run by Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust, exists to raise awareness, understanding and involvement in marine conservation. Based in Northland, but active in eight regions across New Zealand, EMR provide as many kiwis as possible an opportunity to snorkel our wonderful marine reserves.

The purpose of the fundraiser is to support the cost of achieving the organisation’s Adventure Activity Safety Accreditation – contributing to more safe and fun EMR snorkeling experience. Having the safest possible practice benefits the entire community.  Over the summer of 2015/16 EMR will be hosting a series of Free Community Guided Snorkel Days and these date announcements will be made on the night.

The theme for the fancy dress Charity Dinner is ‘Underwater Love’ and will start at 6pm and go till 10.30pm. The evening will include a five course meal, fundraising auctions, edutainment and live music by ‘Wakakura’. Wakakura are a talented duo that play a variety of genres ranging from original works in Te Reo to jazz  and modern pop songs, they are coming to Whangarei for the first time to perform at the Charity Dinner!  Have a listen to Wakakura.

Tickets will cost $75.00 each.  To order tickets for individuals, a group or your business and support this awesome cause (table bookings are possible; tickets are limited to only 100) email  info@emr.org.nz or phone 09 433 8205.
