Congratulations to Inspiring Stories Trust CEO, Guy Ryan, who won the 2015 Young New Zealander of the Year Award last week.

We are also delighted with the recent announcement from Youth Minister Nikki Kaye of $500k towards Inspiring Stories, which will enable the Trust to expand its core programmes to reach more young New Zealanders.

Ryan accepted the award at the black tie event in Auckland, in the presence of two tables of Trust supporters, staff, the board, and the wider audience of more than 650 delegates.

“Receiving the award is incredibly humbling. It’s a huge testament to the community of remarkable people and organisations who share our vision and enable us to do this work. I feel so proud to be a New Zealander, and am excited about the many great things that will grow from this and result in better outcomes for young people” says Ryan.

Chair of Inspiring Stories, Vanisa Dhiru, says “The Trust is extremely proud of Guy’s leadership, and this acknowledgement of his dedication and commitment”, which spans across New Zealand’s youth development and social enterprise sectors.

Ryan is the Founder and CEO of Inspiring Stories, launched in 2011 with a vision to see every young New Zealander unleash their potential to change the world. Nearly 5,000 have taken part in the Trust’s programmes, which include Festival for the Future and Live the Dream.

Guy and his team generously provide end-to-end assistance, supporting young social entrepreneurs to grow their ideas to make a difference for their communities and beyond.

The Tindall Foundation has supported the work of Inspiring Stories Trust with a donation of $70,000 in the past year.
