Almost $30,000 was raised for the Christchurch charity Home and Family last weekend by over 200 performers who busked continuously for 24 hour.

This very special and unique Busk-a-Thon event took place all over Christchurch raising $29,753.80.

Performers from age six to 70-years-old took part and showed off their talents from Irish dancers, to unicyclists, from barbershop quartets, to ukulele orchestras.

Home & Family could not be more grateful for the generosity of all those who supported this amazing event. It is a clear indication to them that the people of Christchurch support and value the work Home and Family do in the community.

Home & Family Executive Director Val Carter says, “The whole team at Home & Family is so very grateful for the performers and volunteers who gifted their time in such an innovative and creative way. We’d also like to say thank you to all of those who donated throughout Busk-a-Thon. We had a blast!”
