Nelson Bays Community Foundation is pleased to welcome Wei Siew Leong, who joins the Foundation as its new Executive Officer.

Wei Siew was most recently Director, Client Strategy at Kensington Swan. She is a business development, marketing and communications specialist and has worked as Marketing & Business Development Manager with Chapman Tripp and international law firms including King & Wood Mallesons and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Her focus will be on raising the profile of the Foundation as well as administering the day-to-day operations.

She has recently relocated to Nelson to join her partner, Johnathan. Originally from Tauranga, she lived and worked overseas for nearly 20 years before returning to New Zealand. She has been based in the Wellington region for the past ten years.

Wei Siew has long been interested in contributing to communities staying strong, healthy and vibrant.  She says, “I am so pleased to have the opportunity to use my professional skills in a personally meaningful way and look forward to becoming a part of those helping the strong communities in the top of the South Island.”

Julie Varney, Chair, believes that the Foundation is poised for significant growth and development over the next year. “Wei Siew’s appointment provides us with the opportunity to grow and take it to the next level. We’re very excited to have someone of her skill and experience joining us”.
