Do you know someone who’s made a difference in their community?

1. The ‘Refugee of the Year Award’ recognizes contributions made by a former refugee to their local communities and New Zealand society. The recipient will be presented with a medal at a ceremony in Wellington, with travel expenses covered by Red Cross.
• The recipient will be a former refugee aged 25 or over

2. The ‘Refugee Youth Ambassador Award’ recognizes contributions made by a refugee background youth to their local communities and New Zealand society. This award includes a $500 scholarship and the recipient would help NZRC raise awareness around refugee issues in Aotearoa over the coming year. This voluntary role may include some travel, but all expenses will be covered by NZRC.
• The recipient will be a former refugee, aged 12-24

Nominations are open now and need to be received by Friday 3 October 2014.
