Tangata Tiriti - Treaty People. Building an inclusive and socially cohesive Aoteaora

TTF recently supported Tangata Tiriti (Treaty People) and their Treaty in our Languages Project. This Project supports former refugee and migrant communities in their understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi. Tangata Tiriti runs a civic education programme which aims to improve understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi amongst diverse communities, with a special focus on newcomers to Aotearoa and speakers of all languages.

TTF’s donation is supporting Treaty education workshops, further translations of Te Tiriti across five additional languages and production of translated resources. This work contributes to the building of an inclusive, socially cohesive Aotearoa and growing understanding and connection between resettled communities and tangata whenua.
